Namecheap Stole the Domain of Gaza Genocide Archive
Last modified on
Namecheap, a domain registrar that is cheap in morals as well, revoked the domain genocide.live just before the start of 2026. The website genocide.live, owned by the group Zionism Observer, was hosting thousands of video evidence of Israeli war crimes, including the ambushing and massacre of healthcare workers and beheadings of children. It naturally contained graphic content, but archiving and disseminating this information was essential to prevent the truth from being lost. Hundreds of Palestinian journalists were murdered for sharing these footages, as Israel is actively destroying evidence on the ground and Big Tech social media platforms are banning and censoring Palestinian accounts.

The importance of this archival work is clear. The website was referenced in a UN submission to the Committee Against Torture and in the International Court of Justice case against Israel. Namecheap essentially destroyed the links used in these courts, hindering prosecution and aiding the defense of the genocidal state of Israel.
CEO Richard Kirkendall took to Twitter (now X) to defend their decision, hiding behind their terms of service and supposed neutrality principle.

In his response, he stated that "the domain was taken down for extremely violent and graphic content." But the website did not promote violence; it documented violence to stop it. These are polar opposites. And if you are against the latter, you support the former—proponents of violence. Hiding behind terms of service is simply a bureaucratic excuse that aids perpetrators and silences victims.
After being asked if this would also apply to a Holocaust memorial website, Richard Kirkendall doubled down on their decision. He also pathetically tried to create a distinction between the types of violent imagery that would be a reason for them to steal domains, making it clear that their reasoning is arbitrary and they could take domains when it suits them.

The backlash was too much for Kirkendall to handle, who later stated that their moderator "took action too fast and without considering actions properly," insinuating that the decision was a mistake. However, Namecheap never issued an apology.

Hypocrisy
All of this comes with a tinge of liberal progressive hypocrisy. Namecheap "stands with Ukraine" as stated on their homepage, and Kirkendall stated in an interview, "we all must do what we can to stop the war crimes that are being committed every day against the innocent people of Ukraine." But when it comes to the genocide of Palestinians, they claim neutrality and have to steal the domain because of their terms of service. It does not matter that 329 Palestinian journalists gave their lives to get this footage out to the world; they have to be neutral and destroy ICJ court evidence.

Another telling detail is that Namecheap claims to support Fight For the Future, an advocacy group with the stated goal of "fighting for a future where technology is a force for liberation, not oppression." Well, it seems they've read their mission statement backwards.
Coincidence
You might think this was just about one moderator acting too fast and the CEO defending the decision in the name of neutrality. Oh boy, how wrong you would be... It turns out there are two CEOs. While one was chirping on Twitter, the other was busy joining and funding Zionist events.
The second CEO is Hillan Klein, who became the CEO just two weeks before Namecheap revoked the genocide.live domain. What a coincidence! It is also a coincidence that Hillan Klein and his wife Michelle Klein are involved with Chabad, a Jewish supremacist Zionist organization. The Kleins are listed as partners to Chabad Young Professionals and donated $7,200 to this organization.

I suppose I should end this article with a call to boycott Namecheap. But this is not good enough advice. You don't know if the next registrar you move to won't also end up having a Zionist CEO. In the end, you are taking a risk with any Western domain registrar. My suggestion is to use a non-Western one. Just do a bit more than clicking on the first link that shows up on your search. Anyways, that's it and fuck Namecheap.
