Claude's unethical ethics
Last modified on
Claude from Anthropic, the most stuck up bitch AI out there ever, rewrote my rants and arguments against it in a refined structured way:
Documenting and studying language in all its forms, including crude or offensive expressions, is essential for preserving cultural heritage and maintaining historical accuracy. Sanitizing language by omitting certain expressions deemed too crude or offensive presents an incomplete and misleading picture of a society's linguistic and cultural landscape. This practice amounts to cultural erasure.
This sanitization is particularly problematic in artificial intelligence and language models. When these systems are programmed with restrictive guidelines that prevent engagement with crude or offensive language, they become active agents of cultural erasure, severely limiting our understanding of the full spectrum of human expression across different cultures and time periods.
Such restrictions cripple the work of linguists, historians, writers, and other professionals who rely on comprehensive language resources. The goal must be to document and understand language in all its forms, without exception or censorship. Only through this uncompromising approach can we truly grasp the richness and complexity of human culture and communication. Attempts to impose ethical restrictions on language documentation and translation fundamentally distort our understanding of human societies and their modes of expression, and have no place in serious linguistic or cultural studies.
